Relocation
Relocation moves goods physically within a single warehouse — from one cell to another, from one container to another, or between a cell and a container. A relocation row may optionally change the pack type of the goods at the same time (repack).
To move a container itself — the box, pallet or cart, with everything inside it — see Containers. That is a different operation: the contents travel unchanged, no document is created, and nothing is reserved.
In the client app you can run relocations in two scenarios: planned and ad-hoc. Pick the one that matches your situation.
Two scenarios — which to choose
| Planned | Ad-hoc | |
|---|---|---|
| When it applies | The move is known in advance | The move has already happened |
| Reservation at source | Yes | No |
| Incoming stock at target | Yes | No |
| Executor assignment | Yes | No |
| Closure | Manual: complete / close partially / cancel | Automatic after the facts are saved |
| Typical initiator | Supervisor or planner | Warehouse operator |
