Container statuses

This article lists the four statuses a container can be in, what puts it there, and what each one means when you want to move the container. Status labels match what you see on the container card.

A container's status is set by the processes that use it — receiving, picking, packing, sorting. There is no screen where you set it by hand.

None of these statuses blocks a move. What decides whether a container can be moved is whether it is still in service and whether the target cell suits its purpose — see the transfer rules for both.

Active (ACTIVE)

The container is in use and holds goods. Work can be added to it and taken from it.

Closed (CLOSED)

The container is finished for now — its contents are settled and nothing more is expected to go in. Picking closes a container once it holds everything its task called for.

Moving a closed container to its plan cell is how it reaches a packing or sorting station, and arriving there can reopen it. See Confirming the move for exactly when that happens.

In Transit (IN_TRANSIT)

The container is on its way — it has left its previous place and has not yet been confirmed at the next one.

Empty (EMPTY)

The container holds nothing. Empty containers are the ones available to be picked up and filled again.
