Putaway statuses

This article lists the five statuses a putaway document can be in, what triggers a transition, and what the operator can or cannot do in each status. Status labels match what the operator sees on the screen.

Planned (PLANNED)

The operation enters this status when the document is created (in the client app). The system reserves the corresponding quantity of goods at the source cell or container.

In this status the operator can: edit plan lines, cancel the document cleanly. No facts have been recorded yet.

Transitions out: In progress on the first placement fact; Cancelled if the document is cancelled before any facts.

In progress (IN_PROGRESS)

The operation transitions automatically to this status when the first placement fact is recorded. Reservations are released proportionally as facts accumulate — and the reservation at the receiving cell is lifted as early as the goods are picked up into an intermediate container (possibly on a carrier): the goods have physically left the cell, and from that moment they are tracked as belonging to this putaway inside that container until the final placement.

In this status the operator can: continue recording facts; close with a remainder. Full completion needs no confirmation — the fact that places the last item closes the document itself. The clean cancel action is no longer available — if work needs to stop with facts already recorded, close with a remainder.

Transitions out: Completed automatically, when 100% of the planned quantity is placed; Closed with partial completion when the operator explicitly closes with a remainder.

Completed (COMPLETED)

The operation transitions to this status on its own, as soon as the last fact brings every plan line to 100% of its planned quantity. This is a terminal state.

In this status the operator cannot edit or reopen the document. The document is read-only.

Transitions out: none — terminal.

Closed with partial completion (CLOSED_PARTIALLY_COMPLETED)

The operation transitions to this status when the operator explicitly closes a document that still has unplaced quantity. The remainder physically stays where it is — in the receiving cell, in a buffer container on a carrier, or inside the supplier container. Reservations for the unplaced portion are released automatically.

In this status the operator cannot edit or reopen the document. This is a terminal state.

Transitions out: none — terminal.

Cancelled (CANCELLED)

The operation transitions to this status when the document is cancelled before any facts have been recorded. All reservations created by the plan are released.

After at least one fact has been recorded, cancellation is no longer available — use Closed with partial completion instead.

Transitions out: none — terminal.
